Edmunds Used Cars
Along with NADA and the Kelly Blue Book, Edmunds is one of the leading car valuation services in the United States. Founded in 1966, Edmunds originally offered printed price guides, moved to CD-ROM format in the 1990s, and launched Edmunds.com in 2000. With nearly 6 million visitors per month, Edmunds.com is one of the top 2000 most-visited websites in the world.
With that level of authority, many consumers find it confusing that there are often discrepancies -- sometimes sizable ones -- between values listed in the Edmunds used cars guide and its competitors. These discrepancies are generally the product of differences in the respective methodologies used in valuating used cars. When in doubt, shoot for an average -- ultimately price is going to come down to two people negotiating.
